About the Artists

Pamela Machala

Pamela Machala | Photographer: Amber Cantorna

Indie soul-pop artist Pamela Machala (pronounced “MOCK-uh-luh”) has one foot in the lyric-focused Laurel Canyon singer-songwriter tradition and the other foot tapping the grooves of Motown and R&B. Pamela strikes an earthy yet elegant aesthetic balance with influences ranging from jazz and soul to musical theater and folk. Signatures of Pamela’s songwriting include sprightly hooks, effortless vocals, subtly complex chord changes, feelgood funky grooves, and boldly vulnerable lyrics.

Tim Ostdiek

Tim Ostdiek

Tim Ostdiek is a playful, uplifting, and engaging singer, songwriter and performer. He writes feel-good, big-hearted folk with a drop of something funky. With hopeful and purposeful songs, Ostdiek doesn’t shy from the deep and heavy. A tasteful and dynamic guitarist, Ostdiek often fits fingerpicking, strumming, and lead elements into one song.

Shawn Cunnane

Shawn Cunnane

As a solo performer and songwriter, Shawn Cunnane’s diverse style ranges from Travis picking ballads with jazzy overtones to bluegrassy foot stompers. The unique textures he creates in his originals and interpretations are intimate and alluring.

Kate Farmer

Kate Farmer

Raised in the small community of Jamestown, CO, Kate Farmer can’t remember a time she wasn’t immersed in music. She grew up listening to her mother’s clear falsetto harmonizing with Nanci Griffith, Alison Krauss and Bonnie Raitt, instilling in her a deep love of strong female voices and heartfelt songwriting. After much encouragement at a young age, her first performance was at 9 years old where she brought several hippies to tears…and she hasn’t stopped since.

Continuing to combine her love of family and community with music, Kate performs as one half of The Farmer Sisters with her sister Sara Jane, and as a member of The Constellation Collective. Writing original songs on her acoustic guitar, her style feels soulful and bluesy with folk and Americana influences. In any genre, her voice alone could make you cry.

Unity in the Community Headliners: The Pamlico Sound

The Pamlico Sound

Boulder Colorado’s longest-running champions of high-energy, authentic Funk and Soul music, The Pamlico Sound are known for their original, contemporary songs and performances, while drawing inspiration from classic legends like Sly & The Family Stone and Parliament Funkadelic.

As a part of the festival, this performance is free to attend and will have you dancing into the night!
